Four aims. One blessing to clear the way.
In Hindu thought, a life well lived rests on four aims, the purusharthas. The Pathfinder Bracelet carries them as four delicate stones set in a blossom along a fine gold chain, with a tiny Ganesha charm at the clasp to clear the way.
The four aims
- Dharma: living with duty, integrity and purpose
- Artha: prosperity, and the means to build a secure life
- Kama: love, beauty, joy and creative expression
- Moksha: spiritual freedom and self-realisation
These aims are meant to be held in balance. Wealth and joy are honoured when guided by dharma, and moksha is seen as the aim the others lead toward.
The blessing of Ganesha
Ganesha, the remover of obstacles, is invoked at the start of any new beginning or journey. He hangs at the clasp, where the bracelet opens and closes, as a blessing at the start of every path.
The meaning
Four stones for four aims, and one blessing to clear the way. Worn as a reminder to walk with intention, and a thoughtful gift for a new chapter, a new home, a graduation or a first job.
